Laura Lo Faro’s dream was to create an authentic Italian coffee shop in the heart of Hackney. With a myriad of coffee shops in the area, it was vital that hers was distinctive. Fortunately, her exuberant personality proved to be the key. Hand gestures are a fundamental part of Italian conversation and are integral to everything Laura does, both speaking and baking. Truly “Dolce Handmade”.

To shape this identity, we worked with Italian illustrator Gabriele Grassi to create a series of hand-drawn monochrome images to amuse and encourage spirited discussion at this liveliest of coffee shops.
